Frequently asked

Questions, answered

The questions counselors, educators, agency leaders, and families ask us most often.

Most Academy courses are open to working professionals — VR counselors, special educators, workforce specialists, agency leaders, and other service providers. The youth and young-adult tracks have age-specific eligibility (typically 14 to 22). If you're not sure which track fits, contact us and we'll route you to the right place.

Foundation takes about 12 hours of instruction and can be completed in 2 to 6 weeks depending on format. Practitioner is 36 hours over 8 to 12 weeks. Specialist is 60 hours and typically runs 4 to 6 months. Train-the-Trainer adds a 24+ hour capstone after Practitioner.

Yes. We reserve scholarship seats in every cohort for learners from underserved communities, learners with disabilities, and counselors at small or rural VR offices. Sliding-scale pricing is available for individuals; group rates are available for agencies. Contact us to discuss your situation.

Yes. State VR agencies, school districts, workforce boards, and non-profit organizations regularly book custom on-site or hybrid deliveries for their staff. We tailor the curriculum to your workflow, accreditation requirements, and outcome reporting needs.

Yes. Every course meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Videos are captioned, materials are screen-reader friendly, and we ask each enrollee about accommodation needs at intake. If you have a specific accommodation request — sign language interpretation, alternate-format materials, extra time on assessments — let us know and we'll arrange it.

Most counselor-track courses offer Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) continuing-education credit. Educator-track courses offer state CEU credit in most states. Each course's detail page lists the specific credits awarded. Contact us if you need verification for a particular state board.

The AI Academy is where you take training. Our Professional Mentors and Professional Trainers programs (see Work With Us) are how you deliver training and mentorship to others. Many graduates of the Specialist track go on to apply as Mentors or Trainers.

The Summit is our premier annual event connecting participants with mentors across technology, consulting, and public service. It includes networking, mentorship sessions, panel discussions, and keynote speeches. Specialist-track graduates are invited automatically; broader registration opens about three months before the event.

Specialized expertise

A particular strength in VR and the disability field

The AI Academy serves professionals across the helping professions — and we are especially well-positioned to support vocational rehabilitation counselors, special educators, and disability-services leaders. Our trainings translate AI advances into the workflows your agency actually runs.
